Guide Cylinder

Guide unit with cylinder MGQ

The SMC MGQ series comprises compact cylinders with an integrated guide that provide a non-rotating linear motion within a short-stroke body. The guide absorbs lateral loads and moments, so external linear guides are not required. The range covers a wide bore and stroke spectrum through the MGQL and EMGQL types, here across more than 100 stroke lengths per size.

More than 100 items are available, from small sizes starting at Ø 12 up to larger diameters. The ball guide of the MGQL design delivers low friction and high repeatability, supporting handling and assembly tasks with limited installation space.

How to choose Guide unit with cylinder MGQ

What matters when choosing: properties, comparison and typical applications.

Typical Applications

Compact guided cylinders of the MGQ series are used in assembly and handling technology, for example feeding, clamping, stopping and positioning workpieces. Thanks to the integrated guide they suit tasks with lateral load where short installation depth and non-rotating motion are required.

Design Features

Integrated guide absorbs lateral and moment loads, no external linear guide needed.
Compact design short body for applications with restricted space.
Ball guide (MGQL) low friction and high repeatability of the motion.
Anti-rotation defined piston rod alignment without additional parts.
