Standard compressed air filters separate condensate, rust and solid particles from the air line, protecting downstream valves, cylinders, tools and instruments. Connection threads range from G 3/4" to G 2-1/2", the flow rate from 4000 to 40000 l/min.
Filter elements are available in 5, 40 and 60 µm grades. Bowls come as a plastic version, as a plastic bowl in a protective cage, or as a metal bowl without sight glass; the condensate drain operates semi-automatically, automatically, or closed when depressurised. The range covers 110 versions.
The filters sit in air preparation upstream of pressure regulators, lubricators and air service units, as well as directly at machine inlets. Typical duties include assembly and packaging lines, workshop tool supply, conveying and handling equipment, and test benches. Sizes rated at 40000 l/min belong in distribution headers behind the compressor, while the 5 µm versions protect pneumatic controls and measuring points. The intended medium is oil-laden and moisture-laden compressed air.
