Filling, Venting, Draining
Automatic and Manual Air Vents
Air vents release the air that stays in the loop after filling and collects at its high points during operation. The category lists 22 items from Riegler and Fluidics equipment: brass drain and vent valves in angle and straight bodies with G 1/4, R 1/8 and R 1/4, chrome plated brass vent valves rated 10 bar in G 1/8, G 1/4, G 3/8 and G 1/2, and quick exhaust valves in G 1/8, G 1/4 and G 1/2 with across-flats dimensions from 14 to 26 mm.
Manual vents are operated during commissioning and after every intervention until coolant emerges free of bubbles, while automatic units keep the loop clear afterwards without attention. The port follows the manifold tapping and the body shape follows the mounting position: angle bodies on horizontal outlets, straight bodies on vertical ones. The valves are brass, partly chrome plated, and therefore belong in loops built entirely from copper alloys. In mixed installations, stainless steel or plastic versions are preferable.

Typical applications
- Venting the manifold after the first fill of a direct liquid cooling loop
- Air separation at the highest point of the riser between CDU and rack
- Bleeding individual rack branches after a cold plate or hose has been replaced
- Controlled release of small fluid quantities for sampling
- Depressurising an isolated pipe section before it is opened
