Blanking Plugs, Screw Plugs, Caps
Piping and Connection Technology
Blanking plugs, screw plugs and caps close ports that are not in use: spare outlets on a manifold, measuring points without a transmitter, returns of decommissioned racks. 396 references cover threads from G 1/8 to G 2 and from R 3/8 to R 1, in stainless 1.4571 and 1.4408, in V4A stainless and in brass and nickel-plated brass. Hexagon-socket blanking plugs are rated PN 40 bar and are therefore also suitable for pressure testing closed sections.
The distinction is made by tool drive and seating face: screw plugs with a hexagon socket, with and without a collar, screw plugs with an external hexagon in AF 13 and AF 17, blanking plugs with an external hexagon in AF 28 to AF 36, and blanking plugs with a square drive in AF 17. The collar carries a seal, versions without a collar seal on the tapered thread. For the water-glycol loop: stainless without restriction, brass only in a single-metal section.

- Closing unused ports on manifolds and headers
- Blanking measuring points where no transmitter is fitted
- Taking single rack connections out of service without touching the run
- Pressure testing isolated pipe sections during commissioning
- Keeping spare ports tight for later extensions
- Protecting open threads during transport and installation
