Shut-Off, Control and Safety Valves

Data Center

Shut-off, control and safety valves decide where the water-glycol mixture goes inside a data centre, at what pressure it arrives and what happens when a circuit runs past its limit. This branch holds 11,754 items in seven groups: ball and gate valves for isolating individual risers, needle and balancing valves for hydraulic balancing, check valves against backflow from the header, safety relief valves as the last line of defence, pressure reducers for make-up duty, and solenoid and motorised valves for automation.

Connections run from G 1/8 to G 1 1/2, nominal sizes from DN 4 to DN 32. One material rule governs the IT circuit: stainless steels 1.4401, 1.4404, 1.4408 and 1.4571 together with PVDF, PP, PE, PTFE, POM and PVC can be used without restriction. Brass, gunmetal and bronze only where the whole circuit stays single-alloy. Galvanised steel and aluminium have no place in a glycol circuit. Brands stocked: Fluidics equipment, Riegler, Köly Deutschland, Wika, E.MC, Sang-A, Airtec and YPC.

⚡ Isolating is not throttling - Ball valves open and close, they do not meter. Flow balancing calls for needle or balancing valves in the same line.
⚙ Material before price - Stainless 1.4401 to 1.4571 is the default in a water-glycol circuit. Brass and gunmetal only where the entire circuit is single-alloy.
↕ Pressure rating and set pressure - The RUCK check valve series is rated PN 40, safety valves cover set pressures from 1.1 to 25 bar, regulators 0.5 to 50 bar.
✓ Fix the connection size - G 1/8 to G 1 1/2 as female, male and mixed thread, plus weld ends for 33.6 mm pipe outside diameter.
⚑ Remote operation - Two-way solenoid valves at 12, 24, 48, 115 and 230 V, normally closed, and ball valves with double-acting pneumatic actuators.
↻ Plan for service - Gauge isolation valves allow instruments to be swapped without draining the circuit, three-piece ball valves allow service without cutting the pipe.
