Parker - motion and control technology for fluid systems

Quick couplings, fittings and fluid connectors for industrial automation

Parker is a globally active US manufacturer of motion and control technology. The programme ranges from hydraulics and pneumatics through filtration to fluid connectors - components used wherever media such as air, oil or water have to be routed and disconnected safely.

At fluidics-equipment.com the focus of the range is on Parker quick couplings and fluid connectors: coupling sockets and coupling plugs in various nominal widths, with hose or threaded connection (female and male thread) plus bulkhead versions for installation in control cabinets and enclosures. Many versions are made from 1.4404 stainless steel and are therefore suited to demanding environments.

Choosing the right Parker quick coupling

Socket or plug?

A quick coupling always consists of two parts: the coupling socket (socket half) and the coupling plug (plug half). Check which half you need and make sure that both parts belong to the same series and nominal width.

Determining the nominal width (NW)

The nominal width states the inner diameter of the flow passage and determines the possible flow rate. The range includes the following sizes, among others:

  • NW2.7 - small nominal width for low flow rates
  • NW5 and NW7.2 - medium nominal widths for standard applications
  • NW10 - larger nominal width for higher flow rates

Connection type

Choose the matching connection: a hose connection for flexible lines (e.g. 6x4 mm or 8x6 mm) or a threaded connection with female (IG) or male (AG) thread, such as G 1/4", G 3/8" or G 1/2". For installation in walls and enclosures, bulkhead versions are the right choice.

Material

For corrosive, hygienic or demanding environments, 1.4404 stainless steel is the right choice. For less demanding applications, couplings in plastic (POM) are also available.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Parker

What does Parker manufacture?

Parker is a US manufacturer of motion and control technology. The programme covers hydraulics, pneumatics, fittings, filtration and fluid connectors. At fluidics-equipment.com the focus is on quick couplings and fluid connectors.

What is the difference between a coupling socket and a coupling plug?

The coupling socket is the socket half and the coupling plug the plug half of a quick coupling. Together the two parts form a quickly disconnectable connection. For the connection to work, socket and plug must belong to the same series and nominal width.

What does the nominal width (NW) mean?

The nominal width describes the inner diameter of the flow passage and thus determines the possible flow rate. The range offers nominal widths from NW2.7 through NW5 and NW7.2 up to NW10. Only parts with a matching nominal width can be coupled together.

Which connection types are available?

Parker couplings are available with a hose connection (for example 6x4 mm or 8x6 mm) or with a threaded connection as a female (IG) or male (AG) thread in sizes such as G 1/4", G 3/8" or G 1/2". Bulkhead versions serve as feed-throughs through walls and enclosures.

What are the couplings made of?

Many versions are made from 1.4404 stainless steel, which makes them corrosion-resistant and suitable for hygienic or harsh environments. For less demanding applications there are also versions in plastics such as POM.
