Filtration and Loop Cleaning
Side-stream filters clean a partial flow of the coolant while the main flow keeps running. In the water-glycol loop of a data centre this is the practical arrangement: the filter sits in a branch with its own shut-off valve, so element changes and cleaning take place without stopping the plant. The range covers 206 items, among them fine and micro filters in connection sizes G 1/8 to G 3/8 with operating ranges of 1.5 to 12 bar and 1.5 to 16 bar. Brands are Fluidics equipment, Riegler, E.MC and Cejn.
Housings differ in bowl and drain: plastic bowl, plastic bowl with guard, metal bowl with sight tube and metal bowl without sight tube, each with an automatic or semi-automatic drain. Bodies are made from PA 66 GF60 or zinc die-cast Z410. For a closed water-glycol loop the plastic body is the correct choice; zinc die-cast belongs in this loop as little as galvanised steel or aluminium.
