Straight male stud couplings with metric threads join a precision steel tube to the threaded port of a pump, valve block or cylinder by means of a cutting ring and a union nut. The range covers 176 versions, with stud threads from M 8x1 to M 48x2 and tube outside diameters from 4 LL to 42 L.
Two dimensions govern the choice: the metric thread on the equipment side, and the tube series. Light series L and heavy series S cannot be swapped, because cone angle and cutting ring differ. Available materials are zinc plated steel as well as stainless steel 1.4571, the latter also as a body supplied without nut and ring.
Determine thread size and tube series separately: the stud thread follows the equipment, the tube end follows the installed line. The two sizes often differ, for example tube 8 L (M14x1,5) on a M 18x1,5 stud. For repairs without replacing the tube, bodies in 1.4571 are offered without nut and ring, so existing cutting rings can stay in service.
Rigid pipework on hydraulic power units, machine tools and presses, where steel tubes run to pumps, valve blocks and cylinders. Also used in lubrication systems, test benches and plant engineering whenever a metric port thread is specified. Versions in 1.4571 serve chemical plants, outdoor lines and wet areas.
