SMC electric drives convert electrical energy into precisely controlled linear or rotary motion. The range covers electric cylinders, belt and ball-screw actuators and stepper and servo motors together with the associated positioning modules. More than 2,500 items are listed in this section.
Unlike pneumatic drives, electric actuators allow freely programmable positions and velocity and force profiles. The L(D)ZB series is offered as an electric cylinder in several stroke lengths, complemented by mounting and fastening elements.
Categories
Electric drives are used where intermediate positions, adjustable speeds and repeatable force profiles are required, for example in assembly, testing and handling technology. They complement pneumatic solutions where free positioning matters more than maximum simplicity.
