Machine glass thermometers measure fluid temperature directly at pipework, vessels and machinery. The range covers 140 versions, display ranges from -60 to +40 °C up to 0 to +200 °C, stem lengths between 63 and 400 mm.
All versions follow DIN 16185, DIN 16186, DIN 16189 and DIN 16190 in shapes B and S, so the scale can be read in a vertical or a horizontal mounting position. Scale division is 1 K or 2 K, depending on the measuring range.
Typical uses are heating and refrigeration systems, hot water and cooling water circuits, heat exchangers and general process plant. Ranges up to 0 to +200 °C cover thermal oil and steam tracing circuits, while -60 to +40 °C and -30 to +50 °C serve refrigeration, brine and ventilation lines. Short stems of 63 mm suit small pipe cross sections, lengths up to 400 mm reach into vessels and large nominal bores.
