WIKA chemical bimetal thermometers, horizontal

Horizontal bimetal thermometers in the chemical industry design cover display ranges from -50 to +50 °C up to 0 to +600 °C. Case diameters are 63 or 100 mm, stem lengths measure 63, 100, 160 or 200 mm.

Scale division is 1, 2, 5 or 10 K depending on the span, accuracy corresponds to class 1. The range covers 110 versions supplied without a thermowell, so that span, stem length and case size can be matched to the measuring point.

How to choose WIKA chemical bimetal thermometers, horizontal

What matters when choosing: properties, comparison and typical applications.

Technical data

⚡Display range -50 to +600 °C - 14 spans, from -50 to +50 °C on cold circuits up to 0 to +600 °C on hot processes.
⚡Stem length 63 to 200 mm - four insertion lengths: 63, 100, 160 or 200 mm.
⚡Scale division 1 to 10 K - graduations of 1, 2, 5 or 10 K, matched to the respective span.
⚡Case 63 or 100 mm - two nominal sizes, the smaller one for tight measuring points, the larger one for reading at a distance.
⚡Class 1 - accuracy class 1 across the stated display range.
⚡110 versions - combinations of span, stem length, case size, all supplied without a thermowell.

Applications

The horizontal design suits pipework and vessels in chemical process plants, electroplating lines, pickling baths and water treatment, where the dial has to face away from the pipe axis. Without a thermowell the stem sits directly in the medium, which shortens response time but restricts use to unpressurised or lightly loaded measuring points. Spans up to 0 to +600 °C cover drying, hardening and furnace processes, while ranges starting at -50 °C track brines, refrigerant carriers and air conditioning circuits. On narrow spans such as 0 to +60 °C the 1 K graduation allows fine reading on heat exchangers and flow lines.
