Plastic threaded hose tails carry a hose onto a parallel pipe thread, replacing metal tails wherever the fluid would attack brass or steel. The range covers 61 versions in polypropylene as well as PVDF, made for hose inside diameters from 4 to 50 (2") mm, rated at nominal pressure PN 10.
The choice follows hose size, thread size G 1/8" to G 1/2", plus the plastic itself: polypropylene in beige as well as natural covers general duty, natural PVDF handles harsher chemical, thermal load. Hexagon sizes range from 14 to 60 mm across flats. A parallel thread does not seal in the thread flank, so sealing takes place on the flat face or through a separate seal.
Fix the plastic first, according to fluid plus temperature, then settle thread size along with hose size. The two values stay independent: G 1/2" is offered on a 9 (3/8") mm hose just as on a 13 (1/2") mm hose. Plastic threads accept far less tightening torque than brass, so start the thread by hand, then pull up on the hexagon only. Place the hose clamp over the serrated shank, never over the shoulder leading to the thread.
Laboratory equipment, electroplating, surface treatment, water treatment plus dosing or decanting stations, where hoses rated to 10 bar run to tanks, pumps, valves. PVDF versions go in wherever acids, alkalis or solvents load the plastic harder. Further uses cover cooling circuits, service water lines as well as temporary pipework, where low weight along with freedom from corrosion counts more than the strength of a metal coupling.
