SMC electric cylinders of the LZ series are electrically driven linear actuators that use an electric motor instead of compressed air to generate the stroke. They allow flexible control of position, speed and stroke and suit applications with defined motion profiles.
The range comprises 21 items of the L(D)ZB series in various stroke lengths, plus the associated fixing and mounting elements. The electric drive is an alternative to the pneumatic cylinder where higher positioning accuracy is required.
Electric cylinders are used where flexible motion profiles, variable positions or precise speed control are required, for example in assembly, testing and handling tasks. They complement pneumatic actuators where several intermediate positions or reproducible strokes are needed.
