Couplings and Disconnects
Non-Drip Couplings (Clean-Break, Dry-Break)
Non-drip couplings separate a filled liquid circuit without releasing an appreciable amount of coolant or drawing in air. Both halves shut off as they part and the sealing faces sit flush against each other, so almost no residual volume remains between them. That is exactly what a data centre needs: no water-glycol mixture may be left standing above a server during a module swap, and the circuit should run again after mating without lengthy venting. The category holds 132 items from Cejn and Nitto Kohki.
Nitto Kohki supplies the Zero Spill Cupla series in sizes ZEL-2S through ZEL-8S with R 3/8 and R 3/4 ports, in brass and in stainless steel. Cejn contributes non-drip quick-release couplings and nipples with G 3/4 inch female thread in DN 14 and G 1 inch in DN 19, with or without a valve in the respective half. For an IT circuit the stainless steel versions are the first choice.

Typical applications
- Replacing servers and cold plates above filled racks
- Disconnect points on coolant distribution units released during operation
- Connecting rear door heat exchangers to the ring main
- Mobile cooling units and test rigs that are coupled and uncoupled repeatedly
- Water-glycol circuits where topping up and venting are to be avoided
- Connection points above or beside live electronics
