About Bulkhead connectors

Bulkhead fittings take a compressed air line through a housing, cabinet or machine wall and hold themselves in the bore by their male thread. The group runs from M7x0.75 to G 3/4 on the thread and accepts hoses with an outside diameter of 4 to 12 mm. Working pressure reaches 18 bar and goes down to -0.98 bar, which covers vacuum duty.

What matters when choosing

• Thread from M7x0.75 through M10x1, M12x1, M14x1, M16x1 and M20x1 up to G 3/8, G 1/2 and G 3/4, always male. It is dictated by the wall bore and the lock nut, not by the line itself.
• Hose size: for tube O.D. 4 to 12 mm, and on part of the range additionally for hose I.D. 3 to 10 mm. The push-in side follows the hose actually installed.
• Material nickel-plated brass, acetal polymer (POM) or stainless steel 1.4571. POM stays light and does not corrode, stainless steel 1.4571 covers aggressive media and the upper temperature range.
• Working pressure of 10 to 18 bar depending on the version, down to -0.98 bar. The figure on the item applies, not the best value in the group.
• Operating temperature of -20 °C at the low end and 80 to 300 °C at the top. The plastic versions stop well before the metal ones.
