Riegler float switches report a reached level purely mechanically. A ring float travels along a stainless steel 316Ti sliding tube and switches an encapsulated reed contact, with no electronics inside the medium.
The RLS-1000 series covers 16 versions with sliding tube lengths from 150 to 500 mm, switching positions from 100 to 450 mm and G 1/2 or G 1 connection threads. The electrical connection is an M12 plug.
Float switches provide dry-running protection on pumps, overflow protection on catch tanks and min and max signalling on coolant, hydraulic and process water reservoirs. Because the signal needs no auxiliary power, it stays available even if the controller fails.
