Float switch, RLS-1000, 1x changeover 100 mm, sliding tube length 150 mm, G 1/2, male connector M12x1, float 18 mm, -30°C to 80°C The RLS-1000 is a robust, reliable and inexpensive float switch. Since the monitoring of levels as well as dry-run protection and overflow protection are cost-sensitive applications in the machine-building industry, a float switch is the ideal solution for many plants. The RLS-1000 reliably detects the level in vessels with water, oil, diesel or other liquids by means of a permanent magnet and frictionless reed contacts at max. 4 defined switch points (optional) and can be used in a medium temperature range from -30 to 150 °C (optional). The compact float switch is simple, convenient and fast to integrate, because it does not need to be calibrated or set during the installation. This greatly improves the ease of handling, especially in confined installation situations. Also, since its robust design makes it resistant to vibrations and shocks, maintenance costs are minimal.

About Float switches

Float switches report a level purely mechanically: a ring float travels along a sliding tube and operates an encapsulated reed contact when it reaches the switching position. No electronics are needed inside the medium and the signal is available even without a controller. The RLS-1000 series works with one changeover contact, sliding tube lengths from 150 to 500 mm, a G 1/2 or G 1 male thread and an M12 plug.

What matters when choosing

• Sliding tube length: 150 to 500 mm. It defines how far the switch reaches into the vessel and has to match the installation height.
• Switching position: 100 to 450 mm below the screw-in thread. The switching point is fixed, it is selected with the order variant and cannot be adjusted afterwards.
• Thread: G 1/2 or G 1 male. The larger version is needed when the 18 mm float has to pass through the vessel socket.
• Materials: sliding tube in stainless steel 316Ti, float in NBR. The medium has to be compatible with both.
• Limits: up to 16 bar operating pressure and -30 to 80 °C medium temperature, protection class IP 65.
