About Union

In a cutting ring fitting the ring bites into the surface of the metal tube as the nut is tightened and holds the joint even at high pressure. The straight versions in this group suit tube outside diameters from 4 to 28 mm, with nominal pressure ratings from PN 100 to PN 630.

What matters when choosing

• Tube O.D.: The range from 4 to 28 mm follows the tube that is installed. Tube size and fitting size have to match, otherwise the cutting ring does not bite cleanly.
• PN: Ratings run from PN 100 to PN 630. The permissible rating normally drops as tube diameter grows, so always check tube size and pressure rating together.
• Thread: Available are G 1/8 to G 3/4 male, tapered R 1/8 to R 1/2 male and metric M16x1.5, M18x1.5 and M22x1.5 male. The thread follows the mating port on the unit or manifold.
• Material: Zinc-plated steel to DIN 2353, stainless steel 1.4571 to DIN 2353, stainless steel 1.4571 and nickel-plated brass are available. Stainless suits corrosive surroundings, brass suits lighter duty air and lubrication circuits.
• Max. operating pressure: The brass versions are rated at 60 bar. Do not confuse that figure with the nominal pressure rating of the steel parts.
