Hose rupture valve »Hose Guard« Aluminium, Aluminium piston, Temp. -20 °C to 120 °C, G 1 IT/IT, Input pressure max. 18 bar Efficient protection for ruptured hoses or pipes in pneumatic systems. Preset to permit normal air consumption by pneumatic tools. Hose Guard detects a rupture in a hose or pipe and interrupts the supply of compressed air in a fraction of a second apart from a minimal residual flow. Unaffected parts of the compressed air system remain fully pressurised, so that the damaged hose or segment can be replaced without difficulty. Once the ruptured hose or pipe has been repaired, the replaced segment gradually fills to its working pressure level. As soon as this occurs, Hose Guard opens the line again for normal operation. About Accessories

Hose accessories cover the parts that hold, connect and complete an installed line. The range fits hose outside diameters from 4-5 mm up to 38 - 75 mm and is specified for air. Depending on the part, working pressure runs from -0.95 bar up to 15 bar.

What matters when choosing

• Hose outside diameter: this has to match the hose already installed. Single sizes cover 4-5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12.5, 13, 15 and 20 mm, clamping ranges cover 13 - 35 mm and 38 - 75 mm.
• Thread: screw-in parts come with G 1/8, G 1/4, G 3/8 and G 1/2 male threads and in the R version from R 1/8 to R 3/8. Larger parts carry female threads from G 1/4 to G 2.
• Material: polyethylene for light clamping strips, aluminium or aluminium with plastic on fittings, zinc-plated steel and uncoated aluminium where mechanical load is higher.
• Pressure: individual parts are rated at 10 bar operating pressure, 15 bar working pressure or 18 bar inlet pressure. The figure on the part decides, not the rating of the hose.
• Operating temperature: the lower limit is between -50 and -10 °C, the upper limit between 40 and 150 °C. Check this first for outdoor or low-temperature use.

Typical applications

• Routing and fixing control air lines on machine frames, in control cabinets and on assembly jigs.
• Connecting PVC pneumatic hose to valves and cylinders in assembly and handling equipment.
• Compressed air distribution at manual workstations where several hoses run side by side.
• Vacuum work, since part of the range is rated down to -0.95 bar.
• Maintenance of existing hose installations when single connecting or mounting parts have to be replaced.

Seals are made of NBR and the Hose Guard series uses aluminium housings. The 86 articles are sourced from production in Germany, Switzerland, France, China and Taiwan.
