About Glycerine-filled pressure gauges
The glycerine filling damps the pointer and protects the movement where pressure surges and vibration would quickly ruin a dry gauge. The group covers ranges up to 600 bar in nominal sizes from 63 to 160 mm. Connection is G 1/4 or G 1/2 male.
What matters when choosing
- Max. measuring range: Full-scale values reach 600 bar, and part of the scales start in vacuum at -1 bar. Set the range so that working pressure does not sit at the end of the scale.
- Diameter: 63 to 160 mm. This drives readability and the space needed on the power unit or in the panel.
- Thread: G 1/4 and G 1/2 male. The larger version usually goes with the bigger case sizes and with measuring points under heavier mechanical load.
- Housing: CrNi steel 1.4301, pressed brass and black plastic with a front flange are available. The front flange version is the one for panel mounting.
- Medium temperature: Rated from -20 °C at the low end to 60 to 100 °C depending on version. Hotter media call for a cooling section ahead of the gauge.
Typical applications
- Hydraulic power units with pulsating pump delivery.
- Compressors where the pointer would otherwise oscillate continuously.
- Mobile machines and attachments exposed to chassis vibration.
- Test benches with rapid pressure changes.
- Pump and filter stations where the reading is watched throughout operation.
All 387 items are glycerine-filled bourdon tube gauges with a case in CrNi steel 1.4301, pressed brass or black plastic. Production takes place in Poland, Taiwan and Germany.
