About Filters

Compressed air filters hold back particles and condensate before they reach valves, cylinders and tools. The group spans microfilters from 0.01 µm to coarse pre-filters at 90 µm and covers flow rates from 130 to 30000 l/min. Permissible inlet pressure lies between 10 and 60 bar depending on the series.

What matters when choosing

  • Filter rating: From 0.01 to 90 µm. Coarse elements protect whole sections of the network at low pressure drop, while 0.01 µm microfilters sit directly ahead of sensitive consumers and are best combined with a pre-filter.
  • Thread and DN: Ports run from G 1/8 to G 2 plus R 3/4 to R 1 1/4, nominal bores from 5 to 55 mm. Only the nominal bore shows whether the body carries the required volume flow.
  • Flow rate: 130 to 30000 l/min. Size against peak demand, because an undersized body lets pressure collapse exactly when every consumer draws at once.
  • Condensate drain: Options include a plug, manual drain, hand drain valve, semi-automatic and fully automatic versions up to a normally closed type. Mounting position and accessibility decide.
  • Housing: Documented materials are PA66 GF60, technopolymer, aluminium and aluminium die casting, zinc die casting, brass, nickel-plated steel plus stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L) and cast stainless 1.4401 (AISI 316). Environment, cleaning agents and mechanical load set the choice.

Typical applications

  • Main filter where compressed air enters a workshop or machine installation.
  • Pre-filtration ahead of pressure regulators and valve manifolds.
  • Fine filtration ahead of paint, dosing and coating equipment.
  • Protection of pneumatic instrumentation and small valves against residual particles.
  • After-filtration downstream of refrigeration dryers in workshop and test areas.

Sealing materials are given as NBR, FKM and HNBR, medium temperature as -10 to 90 °C. The 405 items belong to the FUTURA, SYNTESI, multifix, variobloc, GA, inline, Bavaria and Standard series together with their mini sizes.
