SMC throttle check valves of the ASP series feature a pilot valve and control the exhaust speed of pneumatic cylinders. Via the pilot port the blocked air path can be released, allowing the cylinder to be held or released in a defined manner.
The series comprises more than 20 items in a screw-in universal design with push-in connection. Ports range from G1/8 to G1/2 with tube sizes from 6 to 12 mm.
The releasable pilot function suits applications in which a cylinder is to be held in position during a pressure drop or standstill and is only vented after a dedicated pilot signal, for example on vertical lift axes and clamping tasks.
