Festo electric axes carry out linear travel movements electromechanically and offer freely programmable positions, speeds and accelerations compared with pneumatic drives. The EGC toothed-belt axes are suited to long strokes with high dynamics.
This group comprises more than 189 items, with EGC axes in sizes such as 70 and 80 and stroke lengths from a few hundred to over a thousand millimetres. They are combined with Festo servo or stepper motors and matching controllers into complete positioning systems.
Toothed-belt axes are used for long, fast travel paths in handling, assembly and gantry systems, for example in loading, sorting or palletising. Where flexible positioning of several approach points and adjustable motion profiles are required, they replace pneumatic end-position cylinders.
