The PCV Cupla clamps straight onto a copper pipe, so no welding or flaring is needed at the test point. One lever stroke clamps and seals in a single move, and once connected the joint holds a vacuum down to 1.3 x 10-1 Pa at a working pressure of 4.5 MPa.

Series comparison

Choose PCV PIPE CUPLA when the connection is made directly onto a straight copper pipe and the work involves vacuum: it clamps and seals the pipe in one lever movement and withstands 1.3x10-1 Pa {1x10-3 mmHg} when connected to a pipe, at a working pressure of 4.5 MPa {46 kgf/cm2}. The one sibling series of this category, SP-V CUPLA Type A, is rated 3.0 to 7.5 MPa {31 to 76 kgf/cm2} and is two-way shut-off, so it keeps both sides closed on disconnection, whereas PCV PIPE CUPLA is valveless. Take SP-V CUPLA Type A where the higher pressure or shut-off on both sides is required and no copper pipe has to be clamped.

Compatibility

The PCV Cupla is intended for straight copper pipe only, and the model is selected by pipe outside diameter from 4.0 mm to 15.88 mm. Minimum pipe wall thickness is 0.8 mm or 1.0 mm depending on size.

Standards and compliance

Standard seal materials are fluoro rubber FKM (X-100), hydrogenated nitrile rubber HNBR (H708) and chloroprene rubber CR (C308), with HNBR coloured blue for easy recognition.
