The standard type has a double-acting cylinder and features a magnetic piston as well as integrated cushioning. The magnetic switches can be mounted in two T-slots on the same side as the compressed air supply. Suitable for filtered, unlubricated or lubricated compressed air. If lubrication is used, it must be continuous.

About Standard cylinders

ISO 15552 standard cylinders are the default linear actuator in machine building. Because mounting dimensions, brackets and accessories are standardised, a cylinder can be replaced without reworking the mount. The group covers piston diameters of 32 to 125 mm with strokes from 25 to 1000 mm, all double-acting and rated to 10 bar.

What matters when choosing

• Select the piston diameter from 32 to 125 mm according to the force needed. Air consumption per cycle rises with the diameter.
• Strokes range from 25 to 1000 mm. With long strokes and heavy masses, buckling and an external guide belong in the calculation, since the cylinder should not guide the load.
• Port size follows the frame size with G 1/8, G 1/4, G 3/8 and G 1/2 and also limits the achievable speed.
• Mind the minimum pressures. A set pressure of 0.2 to 0.4 bar and a working pressure from 1 to 1.5 bar, depending on version, decide whether the cylinder still starts reliably at reduced line pressure.
• Documented seal materials are NBR and an NBR with TPU combination. The medium is filtered compressed air with or without lubrication, and units run lubricated have to be lubricated continuously.
