About Globe valves

Shut off valves isolate a section of pipework by hand so that a machine or a fitting can be worked on without stopping the whole plant. The group covers DN 5 to DN 50 and is rated up to 40 bar depending on version. Straight bodied and angle valves are available with female or male thread.

What matters when choosing

• DN from 5 to 50 mm sets the flow. The nominal bore should match the line, a restriction inside the valve costs pressure permanently.
• Thread: from G 1/8 male up to G 2, as female or male thread. Together with the straight or angle body this decides how the line is routed.
• Maximum operating pressure ranges from 10 to 40 bar. The figure depends on body style and nominal bore and is stated individually per article.
• Body: brass or stainless steel 1.4401 / 1.4408. Stainless steel is the choice wherever medium or surroundings attack brass.
• Sealing material NBR or PTFE. Together with the operating temperature of -10 °C to 120 °C it limits which media are permitted.
