About Short-stroke cylinders

What matters when choosing

• Piston diameter sets the available force. The range covers 12 to 100 mm, and the calculation uses the piston area and the pressure actually applied rather than the 10 bar maximum.
• Choose the stroke from the real travel required. Options run from 5 to 100 mm, and asking for more travel gives away the space advantage of this design.
• Function splits the range in two. Double-acting where force is needed in both directions, single-acting where a spring may handle the return.
• Port sizes run from M5 or M5x0,8 through G 1/8 and G 1/4 up to G 3/8 and have to match the existing tubing.
• Check the minimum pressures. Depending on the version, 0.4 to 0.6 bar set pressure and 1 to 2 bar working pressure are required, which becomes the deciding factor on low-pressure networks.
