Pneumatic shock absorbers from Festo decelerate moving masses at the end of a travel stroke and convert the kinetic energy into heat. The YSR series covers thread sizes from roughly 4 to 32 mm and addresses a wide range of small to medium stroke loads, each size with a defined stroke length.
This group comprises more than 17 items, including self-compensating YSR absorbers and hydraulic DYHR oil brake cylinders for evenly controlled deceleration. They protect drives and end stops against hard impact, reducing noise and wear.
Shock absorbers are used wherever pneumatic cylinders, rotary or linear units must be caught at the end of stroke. Typical fields are handling and assembly systems, transfer lines and the end positions of fast-moving drives where the cylinder's own end-position cushioning is not sufficient.
