Festo gearboxes adapt the motor's speed and torque to the requirements of the axis and increase the available output torque via the reduction ratio. The EMGA series is a planetary gearbox in several sizes and ratios.
This group comprises 42 items, with EMGA gearboxes in sizes such as 60 to 160 and ratios such as G3 and G5. They are placed between the Festo motor and the axis and adapted to the respective motor and axis interface.
Planetary gearboxes are used when the axis requires a higher torque or a lower speed than the motor delivers directly. The reduction ratio allows larger loads to be moved or the positioning resolution to be increased, for example on lift and rotary axes with high load.
