About Electrically operated

An electrically actuated pressure switch reports to the control system that a set pressure has been crossed instead of merely displaying it. The range covers measuring ranges from 1 to 600 bar and works as a normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) contact depending on version. Pumps, compressors and interlocks can be enabled or shut down on that signal.

What matters when choosing

• Measuring range: the group spans 1 to 600 bar. Put the intended switching point in the middle of the range chosen, not at its top end.
• Function: normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) decides whether a loss of pressure creates a signal or removes one. In a safety chain that choice matters more than the switching point itself.
• Thread: G 1/8 and G 1/4 male are available. The existing measuring port decides which of the two applies.
• Protection class: IP 65 and IP 67 on the units with an M12x1 plug, IP 40 / IP 65 on the hose connected versions. Damp surroundings and regular wash down are the deciding factor.
• Medium temperature runs from -20 °C to 85 °C depending on type. The figure applies to the medium at the port, the permitted ambient temperature of the housing is listed separately.
