About Lock nuts

Lock nuts secure screw-in fittings in the required angular position and keep the joint there, vibration included. The group spans female threads from G 1/8 to G 2 plus metric sizes such as M24x2, M42x2 and M49x2. Maximum working pressure of the joints is 20 to 25 bar.

What matters when choosing

• Thread: from G 1/8 female up to G 2 female, plus M24x2, M42x2 and M49x2. What counts is the thread of the screw-in part, not the nominal width of the line.
• Thread standard: part of the range follows DIN EN ISO 228-1, that is parallel pipe thread. It has to match the mating part so that sealing happens at the face and not in the thread.
• Material: brass CW614N, plain or electroplated nickel. Nickel-plated is the choice where appearance or corrosion protection in damp surroundings matters.
• Max. working pressure 20 to 25 bar and operating temperature up to 150 °C: both limits apply to the assembled joint and should be checked against the design point.
• Across-flats size decides whether the nut can still be reached with an open-ended spanner in the planned installation.
