About Unions
Straight connectors join two hose or tube ends in line without changing direction. The group covers tube O.D. 4 to 12 mm, with working pressure data up to 25 bar and down to -0.98 bar on the vacuum side. They let you extend, repair or step down a line without relaying the whole run.
What matters when choosing
- For tube O.D.: 4 to 12 mm, and for part of the range additionally defined by hose I.D. 2 to 10 mm. Match the connector to the wall thickness of the hose actually installed, not only to its nominal size.
- Material: nickel-plated brass, stainless steel 1.4404, POM, PA, polypropylene or perfluoroalkoxy. The material decides media resistance. The PA version, for instance, withstands petrol, diesel, heating oil and alkalis but not acids.
- Pressure: figures run from max. working pressure 16 to 25 bar and max. operating pressure 10 to 18 bar depending on version. Plastic parts lose permissible pressure as temperature rises, so the value of the individual article applies.
- Operating temperature: -200 °C to 300 °C across the whole group. Only the stainless steel and PFA parts reach those limits, brass and plastic connectors stay in a much narrower band.
- Sealant: some articles are specified with silicone-free NBR, which suits areas where silicone traces would disturb later processing.
Typical applications
- Extending or repairing compressed air lines in assembly and workshop installations.
- Changing cross section inside a line by using the reducing versions.
- Vacuum applications such as suction grippers, since data down to -0.98 bar is stated.
- Lines carrying aggressive media or running hot, where the seal-free stainless steel 1.4404 version is used.
- Paint shop areas that require the silicone-free NBR seal.
The 34 articles spread across six materials, from nickel-plated brass through POM, PA, polypropylene and perfluoroalkoxy to stainless steel 1.4404, produced in Italy and Germany. Four articles belong to the value line series, whose male thread parts seal via an O-ring seated in the groove at the end of the thread.
