About Plugs and Caps
Locking plugs and closing caps shut down a connection that is not in use. The cap closes a free push-in port, the plug seals an open connection such as a hose end, covering tube O.D. 3 to 16 mm. Working pressures up to 16 bar are stated, along with values down to -0.99 bar on the vacuum side.
What matters when choosing
- Series: Blue Series, click-clock, value line or NonPlusUltra. Plugs and caps are matched to their own push-in series, and using them with another series calls for a separate suitability check.
- For tube O.D.: 3 to 16 mm. The plug nipple or cap has to match the size the installed push-in fitting works with.
- Material: nickel-plated brass, plastic combined with nickel-plated brass, or stainless steel 1.4404. The stainless version targets aggressive surroundings, the plastic one light standard duty.
- Pressure: max. working pressure 10 to 16 bar and max. operating pressure 16 bar on part of the range. A blanking part carries the full line pressure, so the rating of the individual article is binding.
- Operating temperature and medium: -20 °C up to 80 to 150 °C depending on version. Besides compressed air, versions for neutral gases and liquids as well as oil and grease are listed.
Typical applications
- Closing unused outlets on air manifolds and distribution blocks.
- Pressure and leak testing of a line where individual outlets are blanked off.
- Protecting open push-in ports against dirt during transport, storage and assembly.
- Blanking connections when the number of consumers on a machine is reduced.
- Keeping spare ports on service units available for later extensions.
The 33 articles cover the Blue Series, click-clock, value line and NonPlusUltra ranges, in nickel-plated brass, plastic with nickel-plated brass, and stainless steel 1.4404, with NBR seals on part of the range. Countries of origin are Italy, Germany and China.
