About Suction pads

Suction cups form the contact with the workpiece in a vacuum system and decide how securely it is held. The series runs from 3.5 mm to 50 mm diameter, covering small components as well as cartons and sheet metal blanks.

What matters when choosing

• Diameter comes first. Available sizes are 3.5 / 5 / 8 / 10 / 14 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 and 50 mm, chosen from the weight and the contact area of the part.
• The shape follows the surface. Bellows cups with folds absorb height differences and curved faces, flat cups hold even parts in a precise position.
• The connection thread has to match the nipple or the bracket. The group covers M3 male, M5 male and female, G 1/8 male and female, and G 1/4 male and female.
• Cup height lies between 2 and 23 mm and has to be allowed for in the stroke of the axis when the gripper sets down on the part.
• Holding force, break-away force and the minimum convex workpiece radius are listed per item and should be checked against the heaviest part to be handled.
