Stopper valve pneumatically actuated, G1/4, Plug connector 6/4, Working pressure max. 10 bar, Medium / ambient temp. -10°C to 70°C For high-speed positioning and stop functions as well as emergency switching (e.g. emergency stop). If a control signal is present at port 3, air can flow to and from the cylinder. If no control signal is present, the air flow to and from the cylinder is shut off, causing the cylinder to stop in the required position. Stop valves are screwed directly onto the cylinder instead of the normal pipe connections. Note: Pilot pressure is depending on operating pressure.

About Stop valves
Stopper valves are fitted between the directional valve and the cylinder and block the air in both directions as soon as the control signal disappears. The cylinder then holds its position instead of running on uncontrolled after a loss of pressure. Every version in this group works at a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar and is rated for medium temperatures from -10 °C to 70 °C.
What matters when choosing
- Ports 1 and 2: threaded versions come in G 1/8, G 1/4, G 3/8 and G 1/2, and there are push-in versions for 6/4, 8/4 and 12/4 mm tubing. Port size determines the flow to the cylinder and therefore the piston speed you can reach.
- Port 3 is the pilot port, G 1/8 female on the threaded versions. With a signal applied the air can pass to and from the cylinder, and when the signal drops the path is blocked.
- Operating pressure: max. 10 bar throughout the group. The pilot pressure is stated per item and has to be reached reliably by the control system, otherwise the valve does not open fully.
- Material: nickel plated brass with NBR seals. The permitted medium is filtered compressed air with or without lubrication, and once lubrication has been started it must be maintained continuously. Neutral gases are also permitted.
- Mounting position: it is stated per item and belongs in the design review, because the valve should sit as close to the cylinder as possible.
Typical applications
- Emergency stop circuits where a cylinder has to come to rest immediately
- Positioning tasks that require the piston rod to be held at an intermediate point
- Lifting and clamping devices that must not drop when pressure fails
- Manually loaded machines with guard door monitoring
- Transfer and feeding units that should not travel on after a loss of signal
Body in nickel plated brass, seals in NBR, manufactured in Austria. The specified media are filtered compressed air with or without lubrication and neutral gases within -10 °C to 70 °C.
