About Quick-exhaust valves

A quick exhaust valve is mounted right at the cylinder port and releases the exhaust air there instead of routing it back through the supply line to the directional valve. The piston returns faster without larger valves or wider tubing. The range works between 0.5 and 12 bar operating pressure.

What matters when choosing

  • Thread: G 1/8, G 1/4 and G 1/2 female. The size follows the cylinder port, because any adapter in front of the valve takes away exactly the cross section the valve is meant to provide.
  • Operating pressure: 0.5 bar is stated as the lower and 12 bar as the upper limit. Below the minimum the valve does not switch as intended, above 12 bar the range is out of specification.
  • Medium: filtered compressed air with or without lubrication. If lubricated, then continuously as specified, alternating between lubricated and dry air is not intended.
  • Operating temperature: -20 °C to 80 °C. That covers cold installation sites and warm machine areas, but rules out positions close to ovens or dryers.
  • Replacement diaphragm: a matching diaphragm is listed separately for every thread size. If exhaust performance drops, it is replaced instead of the complete valve.

Typical applications

  • Faster return stroke of single acting cylinders in clamping and feed units
  • Shorter cycle times on handling and feeding axes
  • Cylinders with a long supply line to the directional valve, where exhaust time sets the cycle
  • Presses and clamping devices that have to depressurise quickly on shutdown
  • Retrofits in service work where an existing axis has to run faster without changing the directional valve

Threads are made to DIN EN ISO 228-1 and the housing is nickel-plated brass. The 6 items in this group come from Italy and include the matching replacement diaphragms alongside the valves.
