About Unidirectional valves
Check valves let the medium pass in one direction only and close by themselves against reverse flow. That protects pumps, compressors and measuring points from pressure coming back out of the system. The group covers threads from G 1/4 to G 3 and is rated for operating pressures up to 40 bar depending on version.
What matters when choosing
- Body material follows medium and temperature. Brass covers compressed air and neutral media, while stainless steel 1.4301, 1.4404 and 1.4401 with 1.4408 is intended for aggressive media and high temperatures.
- Cracking pressure is stated per article and sets the differential at which the valve opens. It shows up as pressure loss in the line, so it should not be specified higher than the duty requires.
- Maximum operating pressure lies between 10 and 40 bar. Part of the range also carries a minimum operating pressure of 0.3 bar.
- Operating temperature spans -30 °C to 230 °C. The upper limit depends on the combination of body and seal, which is NBR, FKM or FPM.
- Design and face-to-face length have to suit the pipe run. Inclined seat and straight-way versions are available with lengths from 25 to 141.5 mm.
Typical applications
- Protecting compressors and pumps against reverse flow after shutdown
- Safeguarding air receivers and accumulators when network pressure drops
- Separating parallel line runs that feed a common consumer
- Keeping riser and suction lines from draining back
- Placing ahead of instruments and valves that cannot take back pressure
Seals are NBR, FKM or FPM and bodies are brass or stainless steel 1.4301, 1.4404 and 1.4401 with 1.4408. Threads follow DIN EN ISO 228-1, ISO 7-1, DIN 2999 or DIN 13, with production in Italy, Germany, Austria and Taiwan.
