About Bimetallic thermometers

Bi-metallic thermometers indicate medium temperature purely mechanically, with no power supply and no evaluation unit. The series covers dial diameters from 63 to 100 mm and is built for general industrial use. Depending on the version the instrument is screwed in directly or fitted into a thermowell.

What matters when choosing

• Connection type: 24 items carry a G 1/2 male screw-in thread, 27 items a plain immersion shaft with collar for a thermowell, Ø 18 mm. The decision depends on whether the thermometer has to be replaceable while the plant runs.
• Diameter: 63 to 100 mm. The larger dial helps when reading from a distance, the smaller one fits tight pipe runs.
• Case: CrNi steel 1.4301 for harsher surroundings and cleaning areas, plastic for simpler indoor duties.
• Immersion shaft length has to match wall thickness and pipe cross section so that the sensing tip sits in the flowing medium and not in the boundary layer.
• Indication range: choose it so that the working temperature does not sit at either end of the scale.
