About Stainless steel pressure gauges
Stainless steel pressure gauges show the pressure right at the measuring point, with no power supply and no wiring. Since housing and wetted parts are CrNi steel, they stay readable with aggressive media and in damp or chemically loaded surroundings. The group covers ranges up to 400 bar in nominal sizes from 40 to 160 mm.
What matters when choosing
- Measuring range: 0 to 400 bar maximum. Choose the range so that normal operating pressure does not sit at the top of the scale, otherwise readability suffers and the movement works permanently at its limit.
- Diameter: 40 to 160 mm. Small sizes fit tight connection points, large dials can be read from a distance and carry a finer scale division.
- Thread and connection position: G 1/4 male or G 1/2 male, either radial bottom or rear centric depending on version. The connection position decides whether the gauge goes into a line or into a panel.
- Accuracy class: the range includes class 1.6 and class 2.5 versions. For check and acceptance measurements the lower figure is the one to pick.
- Medium temperature: from -40 °C up to 100 °C or 200 °C depending on version. With hot media the upper limit is the deciding criterion.
Typical applications
- Pressure indication in compressed air networks and clean dry air applications
- Measuring points with gaseous or liquid aggressive media in chemical and electroplating plants
- Machine and plant construction where the instrument sits in damp or corrosive surroundings
- Test rigs and acceptance measurements using the finer accuracy class
- Pump and compressor stations needing permanent local pressure monitoring
All 119 items in the group have a housing in CrNi steel 1.4301 and are rated for medium temperatures from -40 °C. Production is in Germany and Poland.
