About Safety valves and Pressure limiting valves

Safety valves cap the pressure in a system and vent as soon as the preset set pressure is reached. This range covers set pressures from 0.2 to 50 bar and installs directly in the line via threads from G 1/4 to G 2. That lets you match overpressure protection to the actual operating point rather than to a standard step.

What matters when choosing

• Set pressure: the range runs from 0.2 to 50 bar. The value has to sit above the system operating pressure and below the rating of the weakest protected component.
• Thread: G 1/4 through G 2 are available, some as male threads (G 1/2 AG, G 3/4 AG, G 1 AG, G 2 AG). Port size determines how much can actually be discharged when the valve lifts.
• Body material: brass, gunmetal or zinc die-cast with silver paint finish. Gunmetal appears in the steam versions, and 14 items are listed in stainless steel 1.4305.
• Sealing material NBR, FKM or FPM: pick the elastomer to suit the medium and the temperature at the installation point.
• Temperature window: lower operating limits fall between -40 and -10 °C, upper limits between 110 and 260 °C. This narrows down which versions are usable at all.
