About Reducing nipples
Reducing nipples join two thread sizes, male on one side and female on the other. That lets a component with a small port sit on a larger line without changing the pipework. The 201 items cover M3 to G 2 female and M5 to G 3 male, with working pressures reaching 60 bar depending on version.
What matters when choosing
- Fix the thread pairing first. Female sizes documented run from M3 to G 2 including Rp 1, male sizes from M5 to G 3 including R 1/2.
- Mind the thread standard. Both DIN EN ISO 228-1 and ISO 7-1 appear in the range, and a nipple to the wrong standard will not seal reliably.
- Choose the material from medium and environment. Brass CW614N bright or electroplated nickel for compressed air, stainless steel 1.4404 and 1.4571 for corrosive media and cleaning processes.
- Check pressure and temperature. Working pressure is stated as 20 to 60 bar, individual items at 60 bar operating pressure, and operating temperature reaches 150 °C.
- The series separates standard from special cases. value line covers ordinary requirements, while NonPlusUltra adds the captive FPM O-ring in FDA-compliant quality on the stainless steel version.
Typical applications
- Adapting port threads on valves and air preparation units
- Fitting pressure gauges and instruments to existing connections
- Rebuilding and extending pipework already installed
- Systems carrying oil, grease or neutral liquids in the brass version
- Cleaning and food areas in stainless steel with FPM sealing
Documented thread standards are DIN EN ISO 228-1 and ISO 7-1, and documented materials are brass CW614N and stainless steel 1.4404 or 1.4571. The O-ring version of the NonPlusUltra series seals with FPM in FDA-compliant quality.
