Industrial shock absorbers decelerate moving masses at the end of stroke in a controlled way and convert the kinetic energy into heat. They prevent hard impacts, reduce noise and wear and secure a defined end position in pneumatic and mechanical motion sequences.
The range covers more than 60 items from the Aventics SA1 and SA2 series in the SA1-MA, SA1-MC and SA2-RC designs. The absorbers differ in thread size, stroke and characteristic curve and are selected to match the mass and speed to be decelerated.
Thread size defines mounting dimensions and fastening, from small to large body sizes.
Stroke must match the remaining travel of the mass at the stop.
Characteristic curve sets whether deceleration is progressive or even over the stroke.
Mass and speed determine the energy to be absorbed per stroke.
