About Union elbows

Angled fittings turn a pipe run through 90 degrees and save both the bend and a second joint. The cutting ring bites into the pipe as the nut is tightened and holds it mechanically, which is why the range covers nominal pressures from 100 to 630 bar. Pipes with an outside diameter of 4 to 28 mm can be used.

What matters when choosing

• Tube O.D.: the values 4 to 28 mm must match the installed pipe exactly, since cutting ring and union nut are fixed to one diameter.
• Thread: taper R 1/8 male to R 1 male for the European standard, NPT 1/8 male to NPT 3/4 male for American port threads, plus M10x1.0 taper male for small port locations.
• PN: pressure ratings run from 100 to 630 bar. Size to the highest system pressure including peaks, not to the average operating value.
• Material: galvanised steel to DIN 2353 for standard hydraulic duty, stainless steel 1.4571 including the DIN 2353 version for corrosive surroundings, nickel-plated brass for pneumatic use.
• Installation dimensions: L1, L2 and the across-flats sizes SW 1 and SW 2 decide whether the fitting can still be tightened with a spanner in the planned position.
