About Swivel nut

The coupling nut clamps the cutting ring onto the tube and holds the joint in the body of the fitting. This group covers threads from M8x1.0 to M36x2.0 and tube outside diameters from 4 to 28 mm. It is the usual spare part when a nut has been damaged during retightening or lost during disassembly.

What matters when choosing

  • Thread: versions run from M8x1.0 female to M36x2.0 female. The nut thread has to match the body of the existing fitting exactly.
  • Tube O.D.: 4 to 28 mm. Thread and tube size belong together, an M14x1.5 in this series sits on 8 mm tube.
  • PN: ratings run from 100 to 630 bar. The very light series is rated 100 bar while the heavier series go considerably higher, so the nut must match the pressure class of the fitting.
  • Material: galvanised steel to DIN 2353, 1.4571 stainless steel or nickel-plated brass. Keep the material in line with the rest of the joint.
  • Width across flats: this determines whether the nut can still be tightened with the tools you have once the line is installed.

Typical applications

  • Spare part for cutting ring joints on hydraulic power units and presses
  • Building new pipework where nut, cutting ring and body are ordered separately
  • Restoring a joint after a line has been opened for repair work
  • Stainless steel lines in corrosive surroundings where galvanised nuts are not an option
  • Keeping common sizes on the shelf in maintenance stores

The nuts are available in galvanised steel to DIN 2353, in 1.4571 stainless steel and in nickel-plated brass. Production takes place in Italy, Germany and China.
