5/3-way air-piloted valve, pressure centre, G 1/8, 450 l/min, pilot port G 1/8 - E.MC

When a cylinder has to do more than reach its two end positions, stopping or being released along the way, a 5/3-way valve is the right choice. This valve from the E.MC RVA series is switched purely pneumatically through two G 1/8 pilot ports and passes up to 450 l/min at its G 1/8 port with a nominal diameter of 3.4 mm. With no pressure on either pilot port, the spool sits in the centre position. Both working ports are then supplied with pressure. With a through rod the forces balance out, with a single rod the area difference pushes the piston slowly outwards.

Advantages

• Flow rate of 450 l/min at 3.4 mm nominal diameter, enough air for brisk strokes without the valve throttling them.
• Valve body and spool in aluminium alloy, POM piston, NBR O-rings.
• Operating pressure of 1.5 to 8 bar with a 12 bar test pressure, and the air does not need to be lubricated.
• Pilot pressure of 2 to 8 bar on two G 1/8 ports, so the signal comes from the same air supply as the valve.

Applications

• Purely pneumatic controls in areas where no electrical wiring is to be installed.
• Gentle follow-up stroke of a single-rod cylinder driven by the area difference.
• Compact handling assemblies with short tubing runs and small cylinders on G 1/8 ports.
