The SMC VP17 power-on valve (VP517/717) is a modular electric valve for switching the compressed air supply on and off. When energised it releases the air flow to the system and exhausts the downstream circuit when switched off.

When energised the compressed air flows into the downstream system; when de-energised the supply is cut and the circuit is exhausted.
