About Bidirectional flow control valves

A throttle valve limits flow and thereby sets how fast a cylinder extends and retracts. The valves in this group work at operating pressures up to 10 bar and throttle in both flow directions. Their small dimensions allow them to be screwed straight into a valve or a cylinder.

What matters when choosing

• The type of connection decides the mounting. The options are threaded connection, push-in connection and quick-connect fitting.
• Male threads run from M5 and G 1/8 up to G 3/8, female threads from G 1/8 to G 1/2.
• Adjustment is offered with a knurled screw, with a slotted screw or in the combined version. Where the setting is changed by hand often, the knurled screw pays off.
• Housing and seal set the temperature limit. Anodised aluminium or stainless steel 1.4404, sealed with NBR or FPM, gives operating temperatures up to 70 °C or up to 150 °C.
• The function is listed as throttling in both directions (B), so both flow directions are restricted.

• Handling and feeding equipment with little space around the valve.
• Clamping devices that should start gently.
• Plant areas where a stainless steel 1.4404 housing is specified.
