5/3-way solenoid valve, pilot-operated, pressure centre, G 1/2, 1350 l/min, 24 V AC - E.MC

When an actuator has to stop in a defined way rather than just extend and retract, it needs a third switching position. The pilot-operated valve from the E.MC RV series switches with two 24 V AC coils and passes up to 1350 l/min at its G 1/2 port. With neither coil energised, the spool sits in the centre position. Both working ports are then supplied with pressure. With a through rod the forces balance out, with a single rod the area difference pushes the piston slowly outwards.

Advantages

• Flow rate of 1350 l/min at 6.2 mm nominal diameter and 30 mm² effective area (Cv 1.67), enough air for brisk strokes without the valve throttling them.
• Operating pressure of 1.5 to 8 bar with a 12 bar test pressure, and the air does not need to be lubricated.
• Service life of at least 40 million switching cycles, roughly 11,000 operating hours at one cycle per second.
• IP65 protection to DIN 40050 and insulation class F, each coil draws 4 VA.
• Response time below 0.05 s and up to 3 cycles per second for cycled sequences.

Applications

• Through-rod cylinders that should stay pressurised and force-balanced in the centre position.
• Large-volume cylinders and rotary actuators that need 1350 l/min at a G 1/2 port.
• Control circuits fed by a control transformer at 24 V AC.

A matching 24 V AC replacement coil, type T1, is available separately. For wiring with plug-in connectors, E.MC lists connection cables in 0.3, 0.6 and 1 m lengths.
