The DIN 912 socket head cap screw joins components wherever the head has to sit recessed or in a tight pocket. With a head diameter of at most 8.5 mm and a head height of at most 5.0 mm it builds far slimmer than a hexagon head screw of the same size. Drive is through a hexagon socket with a 4 mm across-flats size, so the M 5 thread can be tightened even in deep bores. At an overall length of 80 mm the thread length is at least 22 mm.
