About Extensions

Extension pieces move a threaded connection further out, carrying a female thread on one side and a male thread on the other. They cover female threads from G 1/8 to G 3/4 and male threads from M5 up to G 1/2 or R 1/2, so length and thread size change in a single part. That helps wherever a valve or an instrument sits too deep behind panelling.

What matters when choosing

• Thread 1, female: G 1/8, G 1/4, G 3/8, G 1/2 or G 3/4. This side takes the component being connected.
• Thread 2, male: parallel G 1/8 to G 1/2, tapered R 1/8 to R 1/2, plus M5. Parallel G threads seal on a face, tapered R threads seal in the thread itself, so settle that point before installation.
• Pressure: most articles are rated at max. working pressure 25 bar, eight at max. operating pressure 60 bar. Design against the value of the individual article.
• Max. operating temperature: 150 °C throughout the range, which also covers warm media circuits.
• Length and across flats: articles differ in L1, L2 and across-flats size. In tight installations that combination decides whether the part can still be tightened.

Typical applications

• Bringing gauges or valves out of a recessed position behind panelling or insulation.
• Making ports on service units and manifolds accessible where components sit close together.
• Changing thread size during a conversion without adding a separate reducer.
• Bridging parallel and tapered threads in installations with mixed stock.
• Lines carrying air, water, oil and steam, which the range is designed for.

The material throughout is brass CW614N with galvanic nickel plating, rated to a maximum operating temperature of 150 °C. The 33 articles are produced in Italy, eight of them belonging to the value line series.
